05/04/2004 > MILEPOST ACQUIRES BILL SHARMAN'S PHOTOGRAPHIC COLLECTION.

Milepost 92½, has acquired the celebrated photographic archive of Dr.W.A.Sharman. Colin Garratt, Milepost's director said that "Bill takes the kind of pictures people like to see and his wonderful images of Britain's Preserved Railways will augment the Milepost library and sit well alongside our British railway industry and comprehensive world coverage."

The latest locomotive destined to haul the Royal Train was unveiled by EWS on 18th February when 67002 " The Royal Messenger " was shown to the press at Toton Traction Maintenance Depot.

Blizzard conditions struck the Midlands on 28th January 2004 as a late afternoon London bound HST passes milepost 92 1/2 between Leicester and Market Harborough.

Pendolino 'City of Glasgow' on clearance tests under the listed Chorley Flying Arches on the night of Saturday 24th / Sunday 25th January 2004. This route from Manchester to Bolton, Chorley and Preston is an important diversionary line for WCML engineering work between Crewe and Euxton Junction.

Midnight at Preston on Saturday 24th January 2004 as Virgin Thunderbird 57011 'Parker' hauls 87 Class 87006 'George Reynolds' and Pendolino 390033 'City of Glasgow' en route to Chorley to conduct Pendolino clearance tests under the Chorley Flying Arches.
